I had the opportunity to visit Buenos Aires multiple times and I'd come back any time!

At first, the city looks like many major cities around the world. Streets, highrise buildings, the usual mix of cafes and restaurants. But as I walked around town, I walked into the old harbor area. It was much more lively - lots of people walking around, the waterfront lined with places full of live, even old harbour buildings giving off an urban, authentic vibe - of course gentrification has caught on in this area, so "authentic" does a lot of heavy lifting here. But nonetheless, it felt nice to walk around the area. It didn't feel like a faceless city of glass-and-steel skyscrapers, but more like a walkable, lively place.

What's even better is if you walk through the other parts of the city - you find a vibrant local community with many facettes. For example, I've looked for a place to buy some analog films and found Turista Film Club which is a lovely shop for all your analog photo needs. Not only that, it is a ✨ vibe ✨!

Artsy place
Walking around town, you inadvertantly walk into public displays of art.

But it wasn't the art installations that really caught my eye - it was the wall art in the streets.

Besides art that was an individual artist's expression and which you can find everywhere in some parts of the city, some of the art was collective art to commemorate important events that shaped the city - like the mural for the volunteer firefighters in La Boca.

If you keep your eyes open and take your time, you also might get some more intimate views into the heart of a vibrant art scene, like this artist's atelier.

In conclusion
I've met a city full of live, of creative expression and character. It's been a great time and I enjoyed walking around, dipping in and out of the small shops, admiring the street art and immersing myself in the local hustle and bustle.
